My heart goes out to them. I’m left without words as I try to imagine.

oh my God. it is hard to relate when something like this happens so far away from where you live. but boy do I feel for all the people in Louisiana. I believe in God. but it does not mean I understand. my heart weeps as I see homeless men, women and children fear tomorrow and question their future.

A friend of ours evacuated from New Orleans with her two young sons, but they suspect their house (which they bought only quite recently) is totally underwater and that they have lost everything besides eachother. Her husband is working abroad and is trying to get back to help her. For the moment she is alone in hotels with two small children. Her sister was not allowed to evacuate with her because she’s a health care worker; they heard she was okay, but then her hospital was evacuated and now they do not know where she is.

    I can’t even imagine.
