how strangely wonderful that I am right there with you (and oddly enough, wrote something in the vein of this just last week). dance (and teaching dance, working with inner city kids here in atlanta) has been my life for the past 15 years... (still such a huge part of who I am) but I am reconnecting with visual art in so many unexpected ways. and I am loving it.

Oh, you have expressed so eloquently the thoughts that I'm having right now...

While we stay at home with our children, we can either fade away into their lives or we can find our own.

Taking care of my family takes time and energy, obviously. But I also see this as a time to work on the skill that I love- writing- and to see if there's a place for me out there- a place that will allow me to write and support myself doing it.

I want for all of us moms to FIND ourselves right now. I LOVE and am INSPIRED by the fact that you're doing just that.

What a wonderful and necessary reconnection. I'm celebrating with you. It's so difficult to find the time, but also so essential...I'm right there with you, learning all over again too.

Sometimes you scare me with the memories that are so very, very close to my own. I wasn't a teacher, but the shape of my artistic childhood and learning to write is eerily similar. Finding my way back to both after years of other things taking up my time has also been a joy, although I still don't devote nearly as much time to my painting/art as I wish to.
