I write, I have written

Posted on | March 20, 2006 | 13 Comments

I tried to think of something clever to write to describe the weekend, but I couldn’t, because all I’ve been doing is writing and I feel squeezed dry tonight. (The yeast infection, the serious shin splints and the ridiculously cold weather haven’t helped.)

Every spare second for the past three days, writing. I have about 10,000 words of stuff that in the good moments I think is actually decent. Then there are the moments that I feel like flushing it all down the toilet. These moments occur in abundance. But it’s some kind of progress. The deadline is tomorrow, so it’s up to the stars then.

The highlight of the weekend: see below.

Ahhh! And so starts the love affair with the bathroom… where he will likely do some of his best thinking over the years!

Sorry you’re having a rough time, girly! Wish I could hop a plane and help make it all better!

I hope all three things squeezing you, abate sooner than later, although I thought we were done with this COLD weather…the sun is so bright and the air is frigid.

Love the photo, there’s nothing better than a baby’s squishy tush!!

Oh my God. As innocent as the day is long. So cute!

Even your occasional dry spells are eloquently described. Curious: when (time of day) do you do most of your writing?

But you’re writing! You’re still doing your best, and that matters. You could hardly disappoint, anyway :)
I’m sorry about the ills. Yogurt and rice. I mean R.I.C.E. ;) and time.

…forgot to say SNARF! he’s so cute (esp. since he looks more interested in the flusher vs. unrolling the toilet paper!) :)

Ooooooo you’re going to be in TROUBLE when Bean grows up. He’s such a looker with that little curly ‘do. And, nice reading selection — Food & Wine and WSJ. I have a feeling the stars are aligned for you with regards to the writing deadline. Make some chai this evening and curl up with a good book — you’ve earned it!
