Monday notebook page

Seeking solace in paint. After hours of in-service on literacy, I long for the opposite of words. Pure color, images rife with the meaning of heart. Feeling a little dislocated coming home at five, to have my little boy nestle in the curve of my neck for the first time all day. Everything is in a state of flux. Transition, chaotic and inexplicable. This week instead of writing, I think I’m just going to post whatever image I create in my notebook. Not sure where this will lead, but it’s what I’m pulled toward doing right now.

Treat yourself kindly and with love – and maybe some extra vitamins? – and the notebook idea sounds great. Can’t wait to see what pops up. You always amaze me.

Transition times are always tough. Expressing your feelings with images is a lovely idea — excited to see what comes of it.

Replacing words with vivid imagery – now that is a great inspiration (having been wearied recently of words, words, words). I don’t comment often, but want to add my hopes that your routine soon becomes comfortable then moves right to comforting.

Going back to work is hard, but you are fortunate in that you can express your feelings in so many ways and are surrounded by people who are willing to just listen or, in this case, look.
Hang in there. It gets “easier”, for lack of a better word.

Go easy on yourself. You’re doing a great job, I’m sure. You’ll get in a groove soon enough. You’re making me miss teaching!! I don’t know if you’ve said or not, but what exactly are you teaching???
