Morning Poem # 6
Posted on | September 27, 2006 | 5 Comments
All night the cat slept curled
on the chair opposite the bed,
content to hear the heartbeats of her humans
lost in slumber.
Now she wakes and stretches
a beautiful apostrophe of feline ease,
becoming a comma, then an M
before she struts away.

Ah, cats! We have two and they delight me and drive me crazy by turns.
I loved the poem about your childhood friend. And I posted a poem of my own:)

My cat sleeps on the bed and her warm weight cuts the bed in half. I have been writing haiku every day, thanks to you, and posting them. Your poem today is lovely.

I’m telling, you’ve started something very dangerous, this poem writing stuff.
What if I overdose on poetry? What’s the cure, reading staid medical journals?
Christina, I really like this poem, it makes me feel the very catness of your cat. Most of all I like, “beautiful apostrophe” – it’s just all glory, that line.
