1st snow
Posted on | October 23, 2006 | 12 Comments
It snowed this weekend. The first flakes started to fall in long slanting streaks just as evening tucked the valley in. We were inside with a fire going, hanging pictures (finally) on our walls, listening to a Mozart symphony. The next morning, the world was white and golden: a patchwork of the last bright leaves on the trees, and snow in icy piles along the side of the road. Enough for a snowball fight, and full Bean snowsuit regalia. (My camera is still in for repairs. This one, alas, is crap. But you get the idea. It was pretty, and a mostly restful weekend except for an unidentified allergic reaction on my face yesterday. That, and it was about a week too short.)

I didn’t realize you were far north enough for snow! I’m on southern Maine and we had tons of rain, but luckily, no snow yet.
It should never snow in October.
I hate snow!

How wonderful to see your smiling face! Sounds like a lovely, cozy weekend. I love how one small paragraph from you is shining with gems of sentences.
And uh, I broke out my BOOTS this weekend. So I consider it officially FALL now!

The camera may be ‘crap’ but the images are lovely. Hard to imagine snow though…it’s still about 80 here.

Wow, those eyes!! He is absolutely ADORABLE! And the snow’s pretty wonderful too. (We only get snow once or twice a year in Seattle, and this year I am so looking forward to it!)
