'Cause I'm swift like that

Tonight, while painting my studio, I pushed a box that bumped a table that bumped a shelf on which our portable phone sat. The phone arced through the air and landed I THE BUCKET OF PAINT. No joke.
I spent the next twenty minutes cleaning it with q-tips. It still seems to work.
Okay then.
My studio is now a yummy golden pumpkin color. While the paint dries I’m eating dried mango strips and espresso chocolate while my cat is curled at my elbow. The woodstove has made the house toasty. Rain is spattering the windows. Dark noses in at the glass.
How did you spend your day?

Your day sounds so cozy…
Today I slept in until 11:30, an unheard of time. A lazy afternoon followed, complete with a trip to the thrift store for some scarecrow-making supplies and a good bit of time spent lying on the bed in my robe, playing with the cat and smiling at my man. Tonight was a trip to the symphony for Beethoven’s Fifth… uplifting and tiring all at once…

It was a disaster. I can’t believe the stupid thing still works. Seriously, what are the odds? It could have fallen SO MANY OTHER PLACES!

Crisp air in Wisconsin….watched a Badger football game and made a big pan of home-made lazagna – from scratch. Ahh, life is good!

I love reading your blog because your seasons are the opposite to ours. I can picture your studio, even as the sun streams into my living room and the smells of spring abound.
Today we slept in – we’ve all been sick and we really needed it. After a lazy morning, we met my parents at the local cafe for lunch. Back home, the 2yr old is having his afternoon sleep and, as I sneeze yet again, I wonder whether I should be napping too. It’s a nice thought. Instead, I’m blogging

Yeah, I know the consequences of renovation. I must write a story of my husband and son’s efforts during the past weeks – move the fridge, it wails, move the washing machine, it leaks, touch the ceiling and the lights won’t work, paint a wall blue until the paint runs out so paint the rest purple, buy some masonite and the roof rack of the car implodes, etc. etc.

yikes! the color sounds lovely, though. i spent my day putting out fires and drinking coffee. somehow i’ve ended it with a ladybug sticker on my cheek – the contrary whimsy of this to the rest of my day feels loverly.
