Ugh.

I have mastitis and feel like crap.

Help me take my mind off it by leaving me fascinating links in the comments from the last post. Or just whimper with me. Whichever.

Oh no Christina, I’m so sorry to hear this…I was trying to think of something to say that would make you laugh or feel better but can come up with nothing except I hope you’re good-as-new real soon!

So sorry to hear that, mastitis is just awful. Does it help to know that I think your latest writing is completely book worthy and I’ve been wishing I was on the right side of the ocean to help track down a publisher! Czech publishers are no use in this case.

    Hugs, Christine!

I just wanted to leave you a little love note: your blog is beautiful to me. Your ability to find just the right words, the images you use, sharing your thoughts…it’s all very beautiful and inspiring. I’ve been going through some rough times over the last few months and have recently rediscovered your blog and it has been like a welcome old friend in my life lately.

I’ve had mastitis with all of my children. (5) Yuck. Take some tylenol and go to bed!
I enjoy your words. I love the way you capture the raw feelings of that stage of life. After my first child, I was miffed that no one had told me I would feel like I had been hit by a truck.

By the way, do you have to upload songs to 8tracks to get it to play the whole thing? I tried to make a mix by choosing songs that I found on the network and it only plays 30 seconds of each one. Drrr.

I saw you found my profile on there…can you listen to my mix and see if it plays correctly for you?

UGHHHH….That sucks! I totally feel for you. I have been reading your blog recently and can totally relate to many of your recent posts. I had my baby boy 7 weeks ago, so your words resonate quite loudly with me. I’m also a teacher….I’m curious as to what grade you teach? Thanks for your honesty! Wishing you relief SOON!

I just wanted to say I found your blog recently and really enjoyed reading through it. I think you have a wonderful way with words. Also, if you’re looking for some cheerful stories, Girls Gone Child (who I see is also in your sidebar) has invited people to leave happy stories in her comments section and the stories left there have been amazing. Hope you feel better soon!

Here are some of the things I obsessively stalk on the internet:

Foodgawker.com … food porn, oh lordy, food porn.

Kidsandotherpets.com … I love her photos and her kids are so gorgeous!

Freerice.com … some friends of mine started this site, it’s a really good time-killer.

Shelfari.com … create a virtual bookshelf! Share your reading loves with friends!

And of course there’s always Facebook. It’s a soul-sucking thing, but it sure can kill a couple hours like nothing else!

(((((hugs))))) Hope you feel better, darling.

Ouch…power through the pain and it will get better. Jeez motherhood is hard sometimes and not for the reasons that you originally think it will be.

Have you tried feeding in the bath? The water can be good for the pain.

ohhh noooo! I think the time I had mastitis with my second was the sickest I have ever felt in my whole life! This female ER doctor gave me the best advice ever! Get in a hot shower, soap up your breast and massage the hard spot down to your nipple HARD. (i mean hard!)Oh man it worked! I got the knot out and felt better within hours (of course along with anitbiotics, frequent feedings with hot packs to the affected breast)Then a few weeks later I felt a warm area on the other breast, felt like I might be getting it again, hopped in the shower and massaged and I have never got mastitis again. The milk backs up, creates a warm place for bacteria to have a party, but if you can catch it in the early stages you CAN prevent it. Hope this helps, uggghhh hang in there.
