Topographs::5

Sticky little boy kisses, planting more seed starts, stormy skies, dragon rolls & sashimi with a good friend, a new New Yorker in the mail box, lemon frosted cupcakes, Lego rocket ships, and Sprout’s endless beautiful smiles.

***

Also listening to this. Have you seen/heard it? Bean and I couldn’t get enough this morning over breakfast. We’re both jazz lovers. The boy falls asleep to Miles’ Kind of Blue album every night. I have always secretly wished I could play the sax. He wants to be on drums.

I’m working on a long post for tomorrow. Aperture. View. The way we look at this right now. This life. Is you expected it to be ten years ago the life you are living now? How is it different?

    My first daughter was born to Kinda Blue…it holds a special place but we too are Jazz lovers and I did/do play the sax…maybe it’s time to pull it out.
    My life is of course different now then I thought it’d be at 21 but only because there is no way I could have imagined what has become over 10 short years. Not what I thought but it’s own kinda bliss. Might need to blog on this too…thanks for inspiring.
    PS
    Love the overexposure of these shots…the washed out goodness of a life well lived.

    I’m loving these glimpses… ten years ago I had planned to get an MFA, and I didn’t expect it to have taken so long or to involve teaching K-12 in between, but yes, I think it is. More or less. :)

    Have a lovely Thursday!

    I love these daily glimpses as well. They will be such a treasure for you to look back on one day! And I also wanted to let you know that your new B&W profile picture on the side is *stunning*. You look so natural, if that makes sense — exactly where you belong, centered, happy. I’m sure the lemon-frosted cupcakes and jazz don’t hurt either. :)

    I’m loving the topographs, too. What a great idea.

    Ten years ago I never thought I’d be in Switzerland, that’s for sure. Actually, that’s not true. Ten years ago we were engaged, I knew I’d live here. I didn’t expect to stay so long though, didn’t expect to chose this place. Didn’t expect to build this life.

    i’ve always wanted to play clarinet, it’s big band music that moves my soul.

    i love the busyness of this counter. for some reason an area like this comforts me – it makes feel like LIFE is going on here.

    ten years ago i was 25 living in MN with nothing to ground me and no one to hold me. i received a diagnosis from my doctor and a statement that my fertility would probably be in question. today i am in love with a wonderful man (albeit a little mental with his privacy), and the mommy to two beautiful children. it is everything i could have ever hoped for – the ups and the downs.

    I was going to say the exact same thing as Tanya – maybe I’m feeling guilty about my messy bar counter, but it makes me feel better to see someone else’s! (Trust me, mine is much worse!) I also love the Lego creation.

    The mess on the upper counter are packets of seeds and the seed-start container (on the left.) See the onion bulbs? Bean and I got all the seeds except pumpkins started. Now the flats are sitting in a sunny windowsill. :)
