This is what I know today

To be a child means living wonder,
without knowing wonder is a concept, an abstraction.

I was a star before I fell down into your tummy, Mommy, Bean tells me. We’re on his bed, the blue Hawaiian print sheets in a rumple, the lights dim, twilight outside.
Everyone dies, he says but we don’t stay dead. We go up to heaven and then we come back down again as a new baby.

That is exactly what all of my kids have told me…individually.

I’ve been reading your posts for a bit now and this one just pushed me over the top. I have two boys myself – did I say boys? I meant ‘young men,’ young men who have given me so many moments of wisdom like your Bean has done … How lucky we are to be walking so closely with sages.

children really are old souls who come back to tell us about life, I swear!

May Bean never lose this knowledge and faith… about where we all come from, and how connected we all are… And may we never forget that these babes have much to teach us if we take the time to listen.
I love this post.

Tears. Eyes brimming with tears. My great aunt just passed. And she was GREAT. And I hope she returns. Children know more of the truth than any of the rest of us – that I do know. Thank you for showing up in this space and sharing so beautifully and consistently.

Oh, this boy is full of magic…he always has been. However long “always” – who knows?
