Here’s hoping for a better day today :)

    My poem:

    In the small hours,
    Before the day begins
My eyes wide in the dark–

    The house is cloaked
    In hushed silence
    The only sounds
    Sleep filled.

    My mind races forward–
    Loudly clanging
    Interrupting the peacefulness
That is required of the night.

Try as I might, to quiet my brain
    It chatters on
    Until I give in
    And pick up my pen.

i love your picture poems. Here is what i read today:
As day breaks the horizon and awakens the city
A door on which opportunity knocks
    My cup runneth over
    As I refuel
Which way do the winds blow
    I wonder
    Up or down
    A welcomed distraction
    As cleansing approaches
    The clouds roll in
