My goal is to cook every night this week. I’ve had about a month off and I feel slightly re-invigorated.
Reading about the Cotswolds in summer in Frances Mayes book and wishing it were summer right now.
As for eating, I had a lovely beef satay with peanut sauce that I’d been craving, and it didn’t disappoint.

Doing: trying to book a hotel room for my sister’s graduation in May
Reading: The Late, Lamented Molly Marx – just begun, but very promising
Wishing for: a snow day (where I can stay home)
Eating: oven baked pizza from place around the corner; maybe homemade sushi on Sat.

Trying not to work while still on vacation, getting through the rest of my downtime project list, sushi tonight, but need to get back on the salad bandwagon. Wishing for more understanding of the distances between my husband and myself right now. Just starting a new book, haven’t even cracked the cover yet. We shall see!

Doing: launching a new editing business late January
Reading: Christianity for the Rest of Us
Wishing for: a snow day for my daughter, instead of a 2-hour delay
Eating: trying for gluten-free (for me) + low-fat (for husband) = tired of thinking about food

Doing: packing and moving in with my boyfriend while shedding some of the excess via craigslist
Reading: Peter the Great (by Robert Massie), Pale Fire (by Vladmir Nabokov), and Mennonite in a Little Black Dress (memoir by Rhoda Janzen, book club selection)
Wishing for: a trip to Croatia this summer
Eating: earlier this week made cream biscuits and served with butter and honey. next new recipe to try is spicy lamb stew with butternut squash.

Happy New Year!
Doing: Organizing/Purging my house. NOT my favorite task, but I love it when it is done.
Reading: The Newspaper (local) and I am about to begin my bookclub book–The Art of Racing in the Rain, needs to be read by Thursday!
Eating: Began the week with a Rosemary Filet when out with my family–so good, and leftovers in the fridge. Now, just trying to eat LESS. NOT FUN, but NECESSARY.

doing: enjoying my husband before semester starts on monday and we barely see eachother again.
reading: barbara kingsolver’s new one – lacuna
eating: dinner went bad tonight – the salmon was fishy. but i am hoping to make spatchcock chicken tomorrow.
