Going for it.

A box of postcards. A handful of moments. A Field Guide For Now.
Part prose. Part mixed media collage. Part survival guide. Part adventure guide. Altogether: an exploration of the moments in life when everything happens and nothing does. Right now. Because these small, mundane, repetitive moments of laundry and dishes and leaving and arriving can also become the bread that that feeds our dreams and make us whole.
Launching on Kickstarter tomorrow.

(I am so giddy and nervous and excited about this–can’t you tell? Also, you’re support means everything to me on this one. So many of you have nudged me about making some kind of book, and while the novel is in progress, THIS is something that you will be able to hold in your hands.)

My thoughts? I am already so inspired by this concept and so moved to start seeing my own life in this way because I’ve been wrapped up in doing Something and making my life Mean Something. I think I need to go back to basics, and this idea you’ve got is the doorway to that.
Thank you so much for your enthusiasm. I love how giddy and excited you are, and I love that you have the courage to go with it. Go, go, go!

Love it. LOVE IT!!!
Your face is brimming over with excitement and enthusiasm and it’s awesome to see.
Also it’s fantastic that your face in movement is exactly what I thought it would be. You are the same as I pictured you.

I’m thrilled to see more! I find myself so often (okay, always) in your writing, especially the “chomping at the bit” moments during those daily moments that never subside. To intentionally appreciate those moments… it sounds like such a gift.
Oh, and tanti auguri as we say in Italy! I hope you had an absolutely beautiful birthday full of wonder and creativity and the kind of love that transforms small moments into something grand.

Can’t wait to see them.

How do we find your project on Kickstart so we can support you?
January 28th, 2010 @ 3:45 pm
Allison–thanks for asking! I’ll be posting a link as soon as I get everything together to launch–hopefully by Feb 1st…maybe a little after. It all depends on how many minutes I can snatch for creative purposes between now and then!

Hi! Yours was the first blog I ever found and I’ve been in love ever since! Thank you! You are an inspiration! And favorite part of today, so far: my little boy finishing his first dose of medicine for his first ever ear infection(we had to hide the medicine in his juice to get him to take it)I feel so much better knowing that hopefully we’re on our way to recovery! Thank you again for sharing and your beautiful perspective and honesty!
